Newgrounds would of be the place you find a hard and sick as hell drum n bass remix of an othewise kind of soft and spooky track, wouldn't it? God job on this so many moons ago.

Cuuuuuuuuuuute >w>
I love the highe pitched dreamy boops and I love the gorgeous way it fades away with tones that are almost slightly dramatic in nature.

Bertn1991 responds:

Aww, thanks so much! This is one of my personal favorites and I'm glad you enjoy >w>

God I love this, the intro is spooky and it gradually becomes beautiful while retaining this kind of ominous and scary vibe. It makes me think of silent hill gone rave mode or something. As I say that I realize you were involved in making what was basically my favorite silent hill parody piece of all time so who knows maybe it was on purpose.

I also get the feeling you had other content that is not on newgrounds and I honestly wish I knew where to find it. If for nothing else due to my extreme sense of nostalgia right now for these sparkly post ysk days gone by. Idk if you are ever gonna log into newgrounds and see any of this, but thanks for making this cool music and for making me laugh my ass off so many years ago as well as recently, that parody is still hilarious.

I actually like this honestly, deranged clown music vibes.

epicsonicfan10 responds:

thanks! :D

This is gorgeous dude I really love this, so glad I followed you a while back to be catching this right now.

Those touhou horns tho
(note: idk if those are literally from zuns soundbank they just make me think of it)

(edit: ok I just peeped your art and now I'm feeling like despite not having messed with touhou in 10 years I was somehow right on instinct about the touhou horns lol)

(edit like 24 hours later: yeah came back to listen and actually read the description this time, turns out Im just extremely dumb, that being said your fake trumpets sound like the real thing honestly)

MrTremoloMeasure responds:

I have recorded and edited several trumpet samples to try to get a trumpet similar to the one ZUN uses, it is not perfect, but I think it can fool a few unsuspecting fans. :D

I can't believe that in just shy of 6 years no one has so much as commented on this and how its a vast improvement of the first version. I didn't read any of the descriptions at all at first when I came here from someone using your 8bit mix of his world in a joke flash. But when I saw it said "version two" I though "well let me hear the first version real quick."

Just listening to the first version I was thinking some smart arse crap to myself, basically "heh this sounds too detailed to be true 8bit", but seriously thats what I honestly thought on the first version... till I read your description about the Famitracker sequencing program and looked it up. I was unironically thinking about atari style music like a pleb when I thought 8bit, not to say all atari music is garbage in and of itself either per say, but now Im listening to this and Im honestly kind of blown away, especially knowing this could honestly be ported to an actual Famicom technically.

I don't know if you will read this any time soon but when, if ever that you do, just know you have blown a random guy on newgrounds away and also somewhat indirectly schooled me on how good 8bit can technically sound.

VolcansMusic responds:

I'm glad I logged on to Newgrounds today! Thanks for the praises, and I'm glad that you took something away from my ol' uploads.

I don't really touch Famitracker much anymore, but I do still upload music stuff using Mario Paint over on my Youtube Channel from time to time. If you're interested in that at all, come on over! Should still be linked up to my account here.

I hope I dont come off as snobish here but despite being titled "minimal" it actually felt kind of messy. I feel like the culprit here is that as it went on the ambient hums in the back kind of over saturated the track with noise. It did give it a uniquely stressful feeling that hightens at the end with the off key melody kicking in, bringing to mind a coked out criminal running from sirens through the streets lit by neon lights on a dark and stormy night in 1988. Certainly not a bop for one with poor nerves, but it can still evoke certain feelings.

I feel like this would sound cooler if made a bit more fast in the tempo

This feels like something I heard set to a kingdom hearts amv in 2009. I swear to you I mean this in a purely complementative way. I am both nostalgic and sleepy cause I meant to go to bed like 3 hours ago. This is really good calm happy vibe stuff though, makes me think of a lot of nostalgic simple happy stuff.

Quarl responds:

The fact that you can recall music from a kingdom hearts amv in 2009 means that it was special to you, and that makes it special to me. The nostalgia feeling might be the rubato. A lot of romantic era composers of the 1800s would use it to convey expressive emotions. It's a classic technique that predates the romantic era :3

Used to have an account I made back in 2006 but forgot what the username was and thus how to sign in. All I did was watch shit and never talked to anyone so nothing lost really.
